Long Exposure Cables for Canon EOS Cameras
These cables can be used with MaxDSLR, or MaxIm DL/CCD w/DSRL Plug-in, to take
exposures longer than 30 seconds. They also allow you to take exposures of any
duration, not just at the camera stops.
The cables are directly compatible with the Canon EOS 300D / Digital Rebel, Canon EOS 350D / Rebel XT, and Canon EOS 400D / Rebel XTi.
For most other models of Canon cameras, including the 20D and 30D, you must purchase a Canon bulb cable,
and modify it to connect to the long exposure cable. This is necessary because Canon uses a proprietary,
patented connector for the shutter cable on these models. Three electrical connections must be made,
preferably by soldering. Instructions for the modification are included, along with the necessary parts.
Note that a bulb cable is not required for the 40D, unless you want to use the mirror lock-up feature.
