Most filter wheels connect via USB or Serial interface. Some models connect directly to the CCD camera, or are internal to the camera itself.
Several models are compatible with the pulse protocol used on SBIG cameras. These wheels can be connected directly to an SBIG camera, or may be connected directly to the PC via the serial or parallel port. Please see SBIG-Compatible Filter Wheels for more information.
