Obsolete Camera Models

A large number of obsolete (no longer manufactured) camera models can be operated by MaxIm DL; however, the drivers are no longer included as part of the standard installation. The installer for these drivers can be downloaded from http://www.cyanogen.com/down/MaxImDLObsoleteDrivers.exe

Please note that these drivers are not actively maintained, and only limited technical support is available for them.

Notes for specific models:

Apogee PCI/ISA

Older Apogee cameras including AP, KX, SPH and AM series, including parallel port interface cameras, are supported by this driver. For modern models such as Alta and Ascent, please use the Apogee USB/Net driver.

Cookbook CB245

This plug-in is self-contained and uses the built-in MaxImIO.sys kernel-level driver.

Finger Lakes First Generation

Certain extremely old parallel port models do not work with the current generation FLI drivers; if the original generation FLI drivers are installed it may be possible to operate them using FLI First Gen. Please note that FLI no longer distributes the old generation drivers.

Meade Pictor

All Meade Pictor cameras are supported via serial port interface. The Meade 416XT/1616XT camera can also be operated via SCSI; however, only the Adaptec 1480A/B/C and 2940UW adapters are supported.

SAC

All 8-bit SAC cameras are supported via the standard Video DirectShow driver.

The 16-bit SAC10 is supported by a legacy driver.

SBIG

All SBIG models that use parallel port, ethernet, or USB are supported using the SBIG Universal driver, regardless of whether they are currently manufactured.

There are a number of obsolete SBIG camera models that used serial interfaces for communications. The following models are supported: SBIG ST-4 (excluding ST-4X), ST-5, ST-6, STV, and Celestron PixCel 255 and 237 models.

Starlight Xpress

The parallel port SX drivers do not support STAR2000. They are completely self-contained and uses the built-in MaxImIO.sys kernel-level driver.

Please note that all Starlight Xpress USB 1.1 cameras can be operated using the standard SX Universal driver instead, if the newer Universal firmware is first loaded into the camera using the Hex Manager. We strongly recommend using the SX Universal driver instead of the legacy drivers.
